Live Webcams from Saint Louis Zoo's
Penguin & Puffin Coast
We know you miss them, so we're bringing the penguins and puffins right to you — via live webcams!
You can now watch live streaming video of rockhopper, gentoo and king penguins and horned and tufted puffins from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week at www.stlzoo.org/PenguinCam. After 5 p.m., you'll see previously recorded footage.
Tune in throughout the day to see zookeepers feeding the animals and cleaning habitats, birds swimming and diving, resting, preening, building nests and sometimes even raising their young.
The animal care staff will also use the cameras to monitor the birds' behavior year-round as part of the Zoo's animal husbandry protocol.
Penguin & Puffin Coast is currently closed to the public for construction of McDonnell Polar Bear Point next door. Polar Bear Point is expected to be completed in 2015, at which time Penguin & Puffin Coast will re-open. The popular behind-the-scenes tours, which allow small groups to see the animals up close and personal, have continued during the closure. These tours are fee-based and advance reservations are required. Tour details are available at www.stlzoo.org/tours.
The webcams are sponsored by Prairie Farms Dairy.
