Conures are members of the parrot family. They live in groups that range from small bands of birds to flocks of up to several hundred animals. These birds are famous for their ear-shattering screeches. Their loud voices help them communicate with each other over long distances.
Like other parrots, conures have strong beaks designed to crush hard nuts and seeds, and to manipulate food and other objects. They also use their beak to help them climb branches.
