Bamboo Partridge

Scientific Name: Bambusicola thoracica

This species takes its name from the bamboo forests in which it lives.  The partridges eat a variety of foods, seeds, shoots, leaves, grain, and insects.  Their social groups vary in size from two to 20 birds, with each flock inhabiting a distinct and non-overlapping home range.  A female partridge lays three to seven eggs at a time.
