These forest-dwelling birds live in groups of 12 or more. Their diet includes seeds, fruits, insects, and small mollusks. Crested wood partridges build a large domed nest by throwing plant material over their backs, partially covering themselves. The female lays five to six white eggs in the open space within. Both parents care for the young.
