Northern Walkingstick

Don't be disappointed if you can't find these insects as they perch on trees and shrubs. They're often mistaken for leafless twigs. These harmless plant eaters feed on the leaves of trees, particularly oak. Their eggs over-winter in leaf litter and the babies hatch in the spring.
