Vietnamese Walkingstick
| Geographical Range | Vietnam (in southeastern Asia) |
|---|---|
| Habitat | Tropical forests |
| Scientific Name | Baculum extradentatum |
| Conservation Status | Not listed by IUCN |
Even if you stare straight at it, this insect is hard to find in a tree or bush. That's because it looks just like the twig it's sitting on. Walkingsticks hide so well that the Latin name for their order -- Phasmatodea -- means "ghost." Young Vietnamese walkingsticks can re-grow missing limbs when they molt, but adults cannot.
