Texas Gold Tarantula

|---|---|
| Habitat | Deserts |
| Scientific Name | Aphonopelma moderatum |
| Conservation Status | Not listed by IUCN |
This "gold" can strike back, even though it prefers a quiet life of hunting and hiding. This beautiful desert spider is often found in small groups. It preys on any small animal it can overpower with its venomous bite. While no human has been known to die from a desert tarantula bite, the experience is unpleasant for both human and spider.
