All marmosets have teeth that are adapted to gouge holes in trees to obtain gum, an important food item. Geoffroy's marmosets also eat fruit and small animals, especially insects. They live in family groups in which all members help care for babies. The range of these Brazilian monkeys has been reduced to small forest fragments.
