Our Summer Snooze at the Zoo dates and registration information will be available in March. Please check back for complete details.

Webelos Scouts Snooze at the Zoo
Naturalist Badge - Call of the Wild!

Earn the Naturalist Badge while spending the night at the Zoo!

This year our theme is animal communciation and we will learn all about how animals use sound, gestures, colors, and scents to "talk" to one another. You will learn about cryptic coloration while learning about venomous reptiles of the U.S. and learn about how predators and prey communicate to one another while learning about Missouri ecology, and much more!

Overnight evening activities will include a live animal encounter, rotations through four exciting activities, an evening pizza snack (with a soft drink), and a night hike around Zoo grounds which includes a flashlight tour of the Herpetarium. The morning portion of the overnight adventure includes a continental breakfast, a morning stroll around Zoo grounds to see the animals wake up, a souvenir Zoo patch and glow-in-the-dark overnight cup!

To register, please print/complete the Snooze Registration Forms. For more information check out Snooze FAQ's.

Do You Have a Mixed Age Group of Scouts?

If you have a scout troop/pack/den that has multiple age levels and our Snooze at the Zoo programs do not match your needs, you can schedule your own private scout overnight. When you schedule your own overnight we use the themes which we are currently offering but tailor them to match your needs. These overnights cost $35 per person and we require a minimum of 30 participants (this total includes scouts and adults) and a maximum of 60 participants.

Please contact Keri Lammering, Overnight Programs Coordinator at (314) 646-4614 or klammering@stlzoo.org for more information.
