Whale Watching in the Sea of Cortez

travel12_sm.jpg: Petting whales in Baja
Location: Mexico
Date: March 6-14, 2004

The focus of this trip is simple: cruise the waters on the Yorktown Clipper to experience the most spectacular whale-watching opportunities in the world! Among the whales you could see are Humpbacks, Blues, as well as California Grays and their new babies. You could also see bottlenose and common dolphins. Birds like verdins, ladder-backed woodpeckers and Costas hummingbirds are also abundant. Complete the experience by swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and hiking around the scenic offshore desert islands. What an adventure in the sun!

Escorted by Steve Bircher, Zoo's Curator of Carnivores.

There is also a pre-trip opportunity to Copper Canyon.
