Animal Adventures Birthday Parties
2012 Birthday Party Program
Experience a true Zoo animal adventure for your next birthday party, and leave all the details to us!
All parties are led by Education Department staff and include:
- Animal Exploration at our world famous Zoo exhibits
- Private party area just for you and your guests
- Individual birthday cakes and beverages for adults and children
- Tableware (We use real plates and cups to help reduce waste.)
- Fun animal-related games, crafts or activities
- A gift for the birthday child
- Customize your party with extra opportunities for your guests (see sidebar).
Party Packages

Party Like a Penguin
- Recommended for groups with guests between the ages of 4-8
- 60 minutes in a reserved party area
- Live animals* to see and touch (* will not include a penguin)
- Offered on select fall and winter weekends October through February at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- Theme: Penguins
Cost: $300 for up to 20 guests (adults and children), $6 for each additional guest with a maximum group size of 32. Each child 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is a 1:4 adult to child ratio for children 4 and older. Zoo Friends at the Family level or higher receive a 10% discount.
Wildlife Wonders Party
- Recommended for groups with guests 9 months-5 years old
- 20 minutes of introductory activities in the Insectarium
- 60 minutes in reserved party area
- Live animals to see and touch
- Offered year-round on weekends at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Also offered at 5:00 p.m. during the summer. Other days may be available by special request.
- Theme choices: Pet Protectors, Backyard Explorers, or Zoo Discovery
Cost: $300 for up to 30 guests (adults and children), $12 for each additional child guest and $5 for each additional adult guest. Each child 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is a 1:4 adult to child ratio for children 4 and older. Maximum 40 people allowed. Zoo Friends members at the Family level or higher receive 10% discount.
Dynamic Discovery Party
- Recommended for groups with guests 4 years old and up
- 20 minutes of introductory activities in the Insectarium
- 90 minutes in reserved party area
- Offered year-round on weekends at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Also offered at 5:00 p.m. during the summer. Other days may be available by special request
- Theme choices: Caring Keepers, Animal Safari, Zoolympians
Cost: $400 for up to 25 guests (adults and children), $16 for each additional child guest and $5 for each additional adult guest. Each child 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is a 1:4 adult to child ratio for children 4 and older. Maximum 40 people allowed. Zoo Friends members at the Family level or higher receive 10% discount.
Super Safari Party
Recommended for groups with guests between the ages of 4-8 years old.
- 60 minutes in a reserved party area
- 20 tickets to the Emerson Children's Zoo
- Offered on select weekends in March, April, and May at 10:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
- Theme: Animal Encounters
Cost: $300 for up to 20 guests (adults and children), $6 for each additional guest with a maximum group size of 32. Each child 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is a 1:4 adult to child ratio for children 4 and older. Zoo Friends members at the Family level or higher receive a 10% discount.
Make a Reservation
Please call (314) 646-4544, #6, or submit an inquiry form. We require a signed agreement and $50 deposit to hold your date. We suggest reserving at least one month in advance.
Deposit and Payment
A $50 deposit is required at booking, with full payment due two weeks before the party.
