Designed for children ages 4-8, this party offers guests plenty of opportunities for both independent discovery and group exploration as they celebrate with some of the Zoo’s fishiest residents.
Each party meets inside the Living World at the entrance to the classrooms. Once assembled, the group will begin an exploration of life under the sea in the Education Classroom area. Stingrays, sharks, seals, and sea lions will be the talk of the day as the birthday child and guests decorate their own party hats and discover what amazing adaptations enable these aquatic friends to survive life at sea. Following a short break to wash hands, the group will sit down to celebrate with ocean-themed cupcakes and apple juice. If gifts are a part of your Aquatic Adventure there will be time to open them; otherwise it’s time to swim on over to Stingrays at Caribbean Cove for a chance to meet these majestic creatures up close and in person.
Shark/Sea Lion/Stingray, Which Will You Be?
Each guest will have a chance to channel his or her inner sea star as we learn about various ocean animals and decorate our party hats.
Ready Set Splash
At this station party guests can get their fins wet and explore the world of the sea with our water table.
Discover what makes a fish a fish and how various ocean animals are equipped to survive life at sea as we examine various Zoo biofacts.
How Do You Measure Up?
Guests will discover the lengths of various sharks as we walk across the classroom floor. Just how big is a great white shark? Could a whale shark fit in your car?
The Six Senses of a Shark
People have five senses, but sharks have a special sixth sense known as electroreception. During this activity, party guests will get to use their own ‘sixth’ sense to locate fish like a shark.
Live Animal Encounter
Following cupcakes the birthday child will lead the way as we swim over to Caribbean Cove for a chance to meet real sharks and stingrays. Guests will be able to reach out and touch these fishy Zoo residents as they glide through their salty oasis. The birthday child will receive complementary stingray food to feed one of the rays as part of this experience.
The Aquatic Adventure package costs $300 for up to 20 guests (adults and children), $6 for each additional guest with a maximum group size of 32. Each child 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is a 1:4 adult to child ratio for children 4 and older. Zoo Members at the Family level or higher receive a discount of $30.
