Super Safari Parties
Super Safari parties are designed for children ages 4-8 and include both guided activities and time for group exploration in the Emerson Children's Zoo. Super Safari parties are only offered on select weekends in March, April and May.
Each party meets inside the Living World at the entrance to the classrooms. Once assembled, the group will begin their guided safari experience with a brief introductory activity in the classroom area. An Education Department staff member will then lead a craft and active game before facilitating a special birthday treat of cubcakes and apple juice. Refreshed and refueled guests are now ready to go on a Safari of their own. Education staff will end the guided portion of the program by escorting the group to the entrance of the Emerson Children's Zoo. Once inside the birthday group is free to explore and experience a variety of animals from all over the world.
Activities
Guess Who
Can you figure out which animal is which? Real animal furs and feathers will be available for participants to look at and touch as they try to figure out whose spots are whose and where different animals might live.
A Creature of Your Creation!
Learn through experience and design your own animal puppet. Participants will learn about how every animal is unique as they decorate their puppet.
I Love Animals Who ....
Using their newly created animal puppet birthday guests will gather round and play a fast paced game designed to highlight the many different and loveable traits animals share.
Emerson Children's Zoo Group Exploration
Each party participant will receive an admission ticket to the Emerson Children's Zoo where you can slide like an otter, hop like a frog, and touch a live animal or two as you complete your very own super safari. A short scavenger hunt and prize stickers for each child are provided to the party parent to use in the Children's Zoo if desired.
Cost
Super Safari package is $300 for up to 20 guests (adults and children), $6 for each additional guest with a maximum group size of 32. Each child 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is a 1:4 adult to child ratio for children 4 and older. Zoo Friends members at the Family level or higher receive a 10% discount.
This party is offered selected weekend dates in March, April and May at 10:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 pm.
Make a Reservation
Please call (314) 646-4544, #6 or submit an inquiry form. We require a signed agreement and $50 deposit to hold your date. We suggest reserving at least one month in advance.
Deposit and Payment
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at booking, with full payment due two weeks before the party.
