Get a glimpse of the North Pole at the Saint Louis Zoo, where you can walk through an arctic wonderland of twinkling holiday light displays. Enjoy special menus and s'mores at Schnuck Family Plaza, fireside storytelling and activities. And don't forget to swing by and say hello to our special delivery this year, Kali the polar bear.

5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each night

The Zoo will close to the public at 4 p.m. each day of Wild Lights. Doors will re-open at 5:30 p.m. for the event. Zoo visitors who are planning to attend Wild Lights the same day may receive a wristband (with purchase of event ticket) from a Welcome Desk before 4 p.m. which will allow them to stay on grounds until the event begins. Lakeside Cafe will remain open for refreshments.

On January 1, the Zoo will be closed all day, EXCEPT for Wild Lights starting at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets to Wild Lights will be sold until 8 p.m. each night.

Exhibit is closed on December 24-25, 31.


Weekdays (Monday-Thursday):

Advance ticket orders

Wild Lights tickets for any night of the event can be purchased online, or at a Zoo Welcome Desk during Zoo hours. Tickets are also available at the door the nights of the event starting at 5:30 p.m. 

If ordering online, you must print your online tickets and present them to entrance staff to scan for admission, along with ID.

  • Fireside stories: Gather 'round the fire as storytellers like Tundra Tom spin wintry tales about penguins, reindeer and other wildlife. Perhaps Arctic Annie will share chronicles of Missouri critters that live all around us. Come fluff your fur, warm your paws, and perk up your listening ears as you hear captivating animal stories.   • Live ice carving demonstrations on Friday and Saturday nights
  • Strolling entertainment and costumed characters on select nights
  • Visit the 102.5 KEZK Blizzard Zone for all kinds of frosty fun.


  • Climb aboard your favorite animal on the Conservation Carousel. ($3/person, weather permitting)

  • Hot chocolate, meals and snacks will be available for purchase at Lakeside Cafe, Safari Grill and Carousel Cafe.

Advance Group Discount

Groups of 15 or more may receive a group rate of $7/person on weekdays and $9/person on weekends by calling in advance. To order group tickets, call (314) 646-4718 or email Tickets must be ordered by 11 a.m. on the day of your visit.
