We're lucky it's easy to get to the Saint Louis Zoo. From east and west, north and south, there is a variety of routes to America's #1 zoo.

In the coming weeks, construction on Highway US 40/I-64 temporarily may cause traffic to be re-routed when lane closings occur. We'll be posting alternate routes so that your Zoo visits are not affected. Please visit www.stlzoo.org before you visit.

See below for alternate driving directions.

Both Zoo parking lots will be open, and construction will not affect Zoo hours or attractions.

Alternate Routes

From US 40/I-64 Westbound
If you're headed west on US 40/I-64 from downtown toward the Zoo, exit at the Hampton/Museums-Zoo exit (34-D). You're at the Zoo. Turn left on Wells Drive at the first stop light.

From I-64 Eastbound
If you're headed east on US 40/I-64 from west county toward the Zoo, exit at McCausland/Skinker (33-D). Turn left, go north .2 miles and turn right on Wells Drive into Forest Park. Veer right to the Zoo's south entrance or left to the Zoo's north entrance.

From I-44
Take I-44 from either east or west. Exit at Hampton Avenue (exit 286), go north 1 mile to the Zoo.

From I-170
If you're coming from north or northwest, take I-70 or I-270 to I-170 south. Exit at Forest Park Parkway and go east approx. 2 miles. Turn right on Skinker Boulevard. Turn left on Lagoon Drive into Forest Park. Veer right on Fine Arts Drive, past the Art Museum to Government Drive. Turn right to the Zoo's north entrance. (Some construction delays possible on I-170.)

MetroLink
Ride MetroLink to Forest Park/DeBaliviere station, then take Metrobus #90 (Hampton) south.

MetroBus
The #90 Hampton bus stops within a short walking distance from the Zoo's north entrance on Government Drive.
