Guided Walking Tours

Our custom walking tours are conducted by specially trained guides to give the "inside scoop," plus an in-depth look at the Zoo's exhibits, philosophy and mission. From the historic 1904 Flight Cage to the thrilling Penguin & Puffin Coast, this is one unforgettable experience.

Each guided walking tour is approximately one-and-a-half hours long. Tours begin and end at The Living World. Based on your time and interest, any and all of the following areas may be covered: River's Edge, The Wild, Discovery Corner, Historic Hill and Red Rocks.

Tours are $5.00 per person. Guided walking tours require a $25 non-refundable deposit and a minimum of 15 people.

Botanical Wonders Tour

Have you ever seen an elephant ear? How about a bengal tiger canna? Let the experts, zoo horticulture managers Ted Hornbeck and Tony Range, guide you on a fascinating and educational one-hour walking tour. Experience the flora in the immersion exhibit River's Edge, plus the beauty of colorful annuals and trees at the Zoo.

Tours are offered Monday-Friday, June through October at 8:30 a.m. for groups of 4 to 20 people. The Botanical Wonders Tour is $15 per person.


Guided Tours can be enhanced with extra amenities such as tickets to the Zooline Railroad, Children's Zoo, Adventure Passes, and more!
