Directions
(Almost) All Roads Lead to the Saint Louis Zoo.
We're lucky it's easy to get to the Saint Louis Zoo. From east and west, north and south, there is a variety of routes to get here. In 2008-2009, I-64/US 40 will be under construction. Detours are minimal in time and distance, and construction will not affect Zoo hours or attractions. For road construction updates and directions, visit Map My Trip and Getaroundstl.com.
Construction updates:
The Hampton Avenue bridge into Forest Park is closed for construction. Please use an alternate route into Forest Park and the Zoo. See driving directions below. The Hampton bridge is expected to reopen to vehicle traffic with one lane in each direction by Memorial Day, 2009 (I-64 ramps will be closed). By July 4, 2009, Hampton bridge will have two lanes open in each direction (I-64 ramps will be closed).
During 2008, I-64/US 40 will be closed between I-270 and I-170. If you're headed east on US 40/I-64 from Chesterfield, follow the highway detour signs onto I-270 north to I-70 east to I-170 south. Merge onto I-64/US 40 east and follow directions to the Zoo as written below. (As an alternate detour, take I-270 south to I-44 east, then follow directions from I-44 eastbound as written below.)
Beginning no later than December 31, 2008 through 2009, I-64/US 40 will be closed between I-170 and Kingshighway Boulevard.
