Make Tracks For The Zoo!
In light of COVID-19 and our Zoo’s closure, the actual St. Louis Children's Hospital Make Tracks Through the Zoo event is canceled, but you can still race remotely and support the Zoo! Run or walk from any location you choose—your home treadmill, neighborhood sidewalk, road or trail—between May 17 and August 1. You’ll still receive a commemorative T-shirt and finisher’s medal. Please run responsibly and follow CDC, state and local safety guidelines on social distancing. Share your running photos, results and supportive messages to racers on social media using the hashtag #IRanForTheStlZoo. For more information and to register, visit stlzoo.org/maketracks.
You asked and we listened! We are now happy to have more live webcams! See the Zoo from a new point of view thanks to Mid America Chevy Dealers In addition to our daily penguin webcam you can now tune in throughout the week to see our polar bear, grizzly bears, seals and sea lions and gorillas!
#KeeperPerspective Flora, our female three-banded armadillo, has a “thing” for shredded paper! This busy girl cannot pass by a pile of shredded paper without making the most of it! She digs, she burrows, she makes it into a hat! With the exception of the hat part, all of these are natural behaviors of a three-banded armadillo. We feel shredded paper gets an A+ as an enrichment item. #BringTheStlZooToYou
The Olympics may be postponed, but our sea lions are getting in their speed laps – even Roby! Getting ready for 2021! #BringTheStlZooToYou
