What's that Smell?

#KeeperPerspecitve Recently, Carnivore Keeper Carrie Felsher took this great video of our spotted hyenas, Haji and Tembo, rolling in bedding from our polar bear, Kali. The hyenas really enjoy stinky smells, including that of other animals, and rubbing and rolling in “used” bedding. Using enrichment with an olfactory component is very effective with carnivores to elicit natural behaviors and activity. #BringTheStlZooToYou

Nuna's 21st Birthday

Cheers to harbor seal Nuna celebrating her 21st birthday at the Judy and Jerry Kent Family Sea Lion Sound! Pinniped keepers treated her to a “Sea Lion Sound Sunrise” complete with cherries and a lime on top! Looks like Nuna might have partied a little too hard with this non-alcoholic frozen ice treat.
