Giant Tortoises

#KeeperPerspective Every spring when the evening temperatures are well above freezing, it is time for our giant tortoises to make their way from their habitat inside the Charles H. Hoessle Herpetarium to their outdoor habitat. Our Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises are active during the day, but like all tropical reptiles, they try to avoid the midday heat. Visitors can often find them under a shady shelter of trees and bushes, or cooling off in mud holes. #BringTheStlZooToYou
