Palm Oil Guide

Have you purchased your Halloween candy yet?

Orangutans and many other animals are in danger due to unsustainable palm oil plantations, which destroy their forest homes. Palm oil can be found in many products—even candy! We are dedicated to caring for animals, so we encourage you to consider purchasing candy that contains sustainable palm oil (like the candy we have at Candy Crossing.) Palm oil is harvested from the African oil palm tree, which flourishes wherever heat and rainfall are abundant. Sustainable palm oil is environmentally friendly because less land needs to be cleared to make the product, which minimizes the impact on animals.
