A special message from Jeffrey Bonner, Ph.D., Dana Brown President and CEO of the Saint Louis Zoo...

I want to share some bittersweet news with you. I have announced my intent to retire as the Dana Brown President & CEO of the Saint Louis Zoo at the end of this year.

It has been an honor to serve you and our beloved Zoo for the past 19 years.

Thanks to your generosity, especially during this challenging pandemic, we have a bright future. The Zoo has a phenomenal track record of quality animal care. We have served as the backdrop for millions of happy memories. And with the addition of the Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park in north St. Louis County, our conservation efforts are only growing. These are great accomplishments, but they do not stem from something I did. They are thanks to your love and support for our Zoo. For that, I cannot thank you enough.

I will continue in my role until December 31, 2021. The St. Louis Zoological Park Subdistrict Commission, the governing authority for the Zoo, has begun the process of a national search to identify my successor in the coming months.

Thank you again for your support, and may 2021 continue to bring hope and good health to you.
