Too old for Camp KangaZoo? Then you’re ready for Teen Camp, an awesome summer adventure for teens! Teen Camp combines all of the best aspects of camp – fun, friends, music, crafts, skits and awesome counselors – with more in-depth information about Zoo animals and conservation. Teen Camp includes an overnight experience at the Zoo on Thursday night!

Camp T-shirt, group photo, snacks, Thursday pizza dinner and Friday morning breakfast included! Extra Camp KangaZoo t-shirts can be purchased for $12.

  • Thanks to generous gifts from donors such as AFB International, the Kwame Family Foundation, the Nancy Galvin Education Scholarship Fund, Anna and James McKelvey, and Post Holdings, the Saint Louis Zoo is pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for our educational summer camp programs.

    Who is eligible for a financial scholarship? Scholarships are awarded to children/families based on an application and recommendation form that shows:

    • The child has a strong interest in learning more about animals and the Zoo, and is the correct age/grade level for the camp program for which they apply.  Different camps are available for children age 4 through High School age.
    • The ability to get to and from the Zoo for Camp each day. Transportation is not provided by the Zoo.
    • The family needs financial assistance to attend. 

     

    To apply (Applications and recommendations are still being accepted and scholarships awarded on an on-going basis.)

    1. Print out and complete the application form.  Mail completed form to the address on the form OR drop off completed form at the Education Department, lower level of the North Entrance building, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

    2. Mail or email the recommendation form to someone not related to you, who knows your child and your family’s financial need, for them to complete and submit via email, mail or drop-off.

    3. Print out and help your child complete the Child Essay Form. Mail or drop off this form or email a scan or photo to campoffice@stlzoo.org.

     

     

  • For high school students age 15 and up

    Join Zoo ALIVE, the Zoo's year-round volunteer program for teens! Zoo ALIVE volunteers help with Camp KangaZoo and other Zoo programs, events and conservation projects throughout the year.

    In Zoo ALIVE, you will:

    • Meet other teens who love animals and kids
    • Learn about wildlife, nature, animal science and the Zoo
    • Participate in conservation projects
    • Enhance your leadership and communication skills
    • Gain valuable volunteer experience
    • Make a difference!
