    Summer overnights offer a unique opportunity for participants to sleep under the stars, without tents, weather permitting. All overnights include an evening snack, guided night hike around Zoo grounds, continental breakfast and a souvenir cup.

    Have you ever wondered what it was like when dinosaurs walked the Earth? This fun night at the Zoo will take you on a journey back in time! Take a stroll through the Zoo, and discover the connections between past and present animals.

    Join us behind the scenes at Stingrays at Caribbean Cove! Learn about stingrays and sharks, and be the first to meet them for the day! We will show you how to touch the sharks, and you can feed the stingrays yourself. You will have an opportunity to walk through the support tent with a keeper who will discuss the incredible equipment and marine expertise required to take care of our marine animals. This program will end with a stingray keeper discussion during a tasty breakfast provided at Lakeside Café.

Participants will get hands-on experience using science tools to discover and learn about the creatures that hop, crawl, and swim through the water.  Program participants meet at the WildCare Park.

    Come explore with us at the Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park as we search the skies, ground, and trees for birds of all shapes and sizes. Learn how to become a bird watcher by developing your skills at spotting birds through binoculars, using field guides to identify different types of birds, and listening closely for the bird sounds around you. Your bird-watching journey begins here! Program participants meet at the WildCare Park.

    Join us at the Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park as we get up close and personal with flowers, bushes and shrubs and the animals that depend on them! In this program you’ll become botanists – plant scientists – and learn the basics of plant identification, the importance of native plants to habitat biodiversity, and how you can help to restore native plant habitats. Each family will receive a pack of native seeds for planting.  Program participants meet at the WildCare Park.

We will spend time in nature investigating the world around us through games and science experiments.   • For families and organized groups with participants ages 5 and up. Fees listed are per group with an additional cost for extra participants.  

    Ever wonder what the Zoo is like after it closes? Gather some family and friends and join us for this amazing opportunity to explore the Zoo at night! A Zoo educator will be the guide for your family to learn more about the animals. Groups of over 12 participants are encouraged to split into two groups for a more personalized experience.

    Fee: $300 for your group of up to 9 family members or friends, a registered adult must accompany the group. $30 per each additional participant up to a maximum of 20 family members or friends.

    Tour Length: 90 minutes.

  • For families with participants ages 5 and up.  Fees listed are per group.

    This program offers a unique experience for your family to join in on a conservation research project. You will meet a field biologist and assist them with radio tracking wild box turtles living in Forest Park. Your family will learn how to use a radio antenna to locate the turtle, assist in conducting an observational health exam and record other data needed for this study. Close-toed shoes and long pants are required. Participants meet at a designated area in Forest Park. 

    Program length is 90 minutes and offered May through October
    Limited to 8 participants in the same family group, ages 5 and up. A minimum of one adult must accompany the group.
    Fee per family group: Zoo Members $100/General Public $120
