The Zoo Young Professionals invite you to Jammin’ at the Zoo — a 21+ event with beer and wine tastings, plus great music.

Wine and Beer Sampling

  • Sample wine from more than 10 wineries, featuring over 50 different wines, specialty canned cocktails and beers from regional microbreweries.
  • Tasting from 6-8 p.m., while supplies last
  • Note: Food is not included with ticket. Food and drinks are available for purchase throughout the Zoo.


  • Featuring FatPocket, DJ Chris Brown and DJ Micro

Souvenir Tasting Glass

  • Complimentary light-up tasting glass, while supplies last

    Current ZYPs will purchase your free tickets here. Once you enter your member number, two free tickets will be placed in your cart. After checking out, your free tickets will be available in your membership account.

    What is the best way to make reservations? Buying tickets online is a better option as the Zoo is experiencing high call volumes.

    What if I’m unable to purchase online?
     For those unable to access the Zoo’s website, please call (314) 646-4797 to speak with a representative. Lines are staffed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

    Is there a help desk I can contact?
      For any issues related to online ticket purchases, please call (314) 646-4797 or email guestrelations@stlzoo.org. A Zoo representative will follow up with you as soon as possible.


  • Jammin' at the Zoo guests may park for free on the Zoo North or South parking lots during the event. See detailed directions

  • Electronic Convenience Vehicles and Wheelchair rentals will only be available in the Living World Building during the event. Please park in the North Parking lot for the best access to North Rentals. Rentals are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Jammin' at the Zoo is a rain or shine event. In the event of rain, the beer and wine tasting times may be delayed. If there are continuous showers or severe weather conditions (storms with lightning), or other unforeseen circumstances, the event may be canceled to help ensure guest, staff and animal safety. In the case of cancellation, ticket holders will be contacted via email and issued refunds. Please be aware that it will take up to one month before your card is refunded.

What to Expect at a Tasting

Wine and beer samples are given in two-ounce pours so that you can experience the aromas, flavors and richness of the wine and beer.

Food and Drinks Available For Purchase

Wine, beer, soda and specialty drinks also will be available for purchase. A variety of foods will be available for purchase at different Zoo venues. Outside alcoholic beverages, picnic tables and blankets will not be permitted at the event. Note: Food is not included in the ticket price. Drinks other than sampling are extra. 

Musical Entertainment 

  • FatPocket: St. Louis’ highest energy party band features razor-sharp rhythms, hot horns and powerhouse vocals. No backing tracks, no sheet music and no “standing still” on stage. FatPocket is a band that brings back the LIVE energy of the 60s-80s to the Top 40 Chart Toppers of today.
  • DJ Chris Brown: Take a kid from the suburbs of Chicago, add a dash of Caribbean flavor and a sprinkle of European zest for good measure and he’ll turn out something like DJ Chris Brown. Having family spanning from Jamaica all the way to England, Chris has learned to love and embrace all styles of music. 
  • DJ Micro: DJ Micro is one of Saint Louis’ hottest nightclub DJs, known for fusing the best of top 40, hip-hop, house, and electro.

Top 5 Wine FAQs

Q: How long does wine last after opening the bottle?
A: White wine stored in the refrigerator should last three to four days. Red wine stored in a cool place should last two to three days.

Q: At what temperature should I serve my wine?
A: White wine should be served between 40-50 degrees, with the exception of chardonnay, which should be served at 50-55 degrees. Red wine should be chilled to about 65 degrees.

Q: How should I store wines after I purchase them?
A: Wines with a cork should always be stored on their side and kept in a cooler area of the house. Remember to keep wine out of direct sunlight. Do not put your wine rack on the windowsill or above the refrigerator!

A: Bottled wine has an an air-tight environment. After the bottle is opened, wine needs to interact with the air to release its aromas and flavors.
