Join the Saint Louis Zoo and St. Louis Children’s Hospital for the 34th annual Make Tracks Through the Zoo. Again this year, participants will run through the world-class Saint Louis Zoo!
This course through Forest Park and the Zoo takes runners and walkers past some of the Zoo’s most scenic features, including the antelope and giraffe habitats, the beautiful architecture of Historic Hill, and the Zoo’s newest exhibit, Grizzly Ridge, home to grizzly bears Huckleberry and Finley. The start/finish line is located right outside The Living World building on Government Drive.
Participants in the 5K and 1-mile race will receive a disposable timing chip for more accurate results.

Don't want to get up at the crack of dawn? Want to support the Zoo from afar? Sign up to be a virtual runner! A virtual race is a race in which you can run (or walk) from any location you choose. You can run or jog, and you can walk on the road, trail, treadmill, track, at the gym or even at another race! You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Your registration fee will still support the Saint Louis Zoo; we will mail your shirt and finisher’s ribbon to you the week of the race. Select "virtual runner" during the registration process.
All registrants will receive a finisher's ribbon, complimentary performance T-shirt* and post-race refreshments.*
Includes two 5K/1 Mile registrants and two kids' run registrants.
Up to three additional kids' run registrants may be added for $10 each.
*while supplies last . ** Only if event is not sold out.
Proceeds help support the conservation work of the Saint Louis Zoo, both here and around the world.
Registration is limited to the first 5,000 participants. Last year's event sold out before race day.
