Capacity is limited to allow for ​good social distancing.

    Admission includes entrance to Wild Lights and the Conservation Carousel.
    • Monday-Thursday: $9.95/members, $10.95/non-members
    • Friday-Sunday: $11.95/members, $12.95/non-members
    • Children under age 2 are free.
      • Advance ticket purchase only.
      • Tickets are NOT available at the door.  
      • Tickets are valid only for day and time noted.
      • Tickets are not refundable* or transferable. 

    Proceeds from the event help the Zoo provide the highest quality care for its animals.  

  • Two admission time slots are available for each evening of Wild Lights. You may choose between the following when purchasing your ticket online: 

    • 5 to 6:30 p.m.
    • 6:30 to 8 p.m. (event ends at 8:30 p.m. Last admittance is at 8 p.m.)

    You must arrive at the Zoo within your reserved time slot. Once at the event, you may stay as long as you wish, or until the event ends at 8:30 p.m. 

    Guests will have their reserved ticket scanned from their print-at-home ticket or digitally on their smartphone. Both Zoo entrances are open. 

    • What is the best way to make reservations?  Buying tickets online is a better option as the Zoo is experiencing high call volumes. 
    • What if I’m unable to purchase online? For those unable to access the Zoo’s website, please call (314) 646-4797 to speak with a representative. Lines are staffed daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
    • Is there a help desk I can contact?  For any issues related to online ticket purchases, please call (314) 646-4797 or email guestrelations@stlzoo.org. A Zoo representative will follow up with you as soon as possible.
    • Are group tickets available? For inquiries about groups, please contact Miranda at (314) 646-4718.
    • Limited capacity. 
    • Reservations for the Zoo during the day, do not count as entry to the event.
    • The Zoo will close to the public at 4 p.m.** each night of Wild Lights(all pathways, restaurants, exhibits, and attractions will no longer be open.) Doors will re-open at 5 p.m. for the event. Zoo visitors who are planning to attend Wild Lights will need to exit the Zoo and have their Wild Lights tickets scanned for re-entry starting at 5 p.m. 

      ** On Thursday, December 31, the Zoo will close at 3 p.m. and open at 5 p.m. for the event. 
      ** On Friday, January 1, the Zoo will be closed during the day and open at 5 p.m. for the event. 

      The Zoo's wheelchair, stroller and ECV rental fees apply for this event. 

  • In the event Wild Lights is canceled due to a forecast of extreme weather conditions (intense cold, ice or snowor other unforeseen circumstances, an announcement will be made via social media and on our website before 3 p.m. the night of the event.

    • *If you have tickets for a canceled event,  you will receive a full refund on the credit or debit card used to purchase. 
    • At this time, we are not able to exchange tickets. If you would like to attend on another date, tickets will need to be purchased for that date.
    • Reservations for the Zoo during the day, do not count as entry to the event.
  • For everyone's safety, the Zoo has implemented enhanced protocols and procedures. 

    Guests age 9+ are required to wear protective masks/face coverings — which must cover nose and mouth — while visiting. See more information
    Looking for a mask? The Zoo has animal face and holiday themed masks available for purchase online and at Zoo gift shops. While supplies last. 
  • Free parking is available on the North and South Lots during the event. 

    You may enter the event through the North or South Entrance.

Our traditional Wild Lights experience has been modified to help ensure your safety and health. Please know that the well-being of our guests, staff and animals is of the utmost importance to us. 

  • Light Displays: Delight in over 1 million twinkling lights and whimsical animal-themed displays across Zoo grounds.
  • Fire Pits: Gather around one of our fire pits to warm your paws and roast your own s’mores, available for purchase.
  • Weekend Live Entertainment: Enjoy holiday carolers and other strolling live performances on weekend nights.

Festive food and special holiday beverages will be available for purchase.

Ride the Carousel

The Conservation Carousel is open each night and admission is included with your Wild Lights ticket purchase.

Animal Exhibits

Wish a holiday hello to the animals in Penguin & Puffin Coast and the Bayer Insectarium

Please note this is the only animal exhibit open at night during the event. 

Lovebirds Lookout

Romantics can stroll through the Zoo to the Lovebirds Lookout area overlooking the lake for a beautiful view of Wild Lights.
