Adopt an Animal

Become a Zoo Parent at the Saint Louis Zoo. When you adopt an animal, your donation goes toward the animals' care and daily feeding. For a few dollars, you can pick up the tab for an elephant's 100-pounds-a-day hay habit or keep a sea lion swimming pretty with 25 pounds of fish a day.

There are three ways to purchase an adoption package as a gift or for yourself:

Visit a Welcome Desk at the North or South Entrance.
Click the link below to order online.
Call the Membership Office at (314) 646-4771, option 2.
(Calls to the Membership Office are answered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.)

NEW: Birthday adoption packages

Are you looking to give someone a unique birthday gift? Now when you purchase a Zoo Parents Program adoption at any level, you can turn it into a birthday package for $20 more. The add-on includes a 9-inch animal-themed balloon, a “Happy Birthday” button and a “Proud Zoo Parent” lanyard.

We suggest pairing a plush toy adoption for $60 with this new birthday package. You’ll get all the items listed above, plus a 12-inch plush toy of your choice, personalized adoption certificate, color photo of the chosen animal with animal facts, and an invitation to the Zoo Parents Picnic. Shipping and handling are included within the contiguous United States.

Within your adoption form, select gift adoption, and “birthday” as your gift occasion to add this birthday boost!
